Sound engine

Meticulously crafted, Sytrus delivers ethereal lush pads, sonorous bells, scintillating highs or simply dirty grunge. The 6 user-definable operators can act as independent oscillators for subtractive synthesis, cross-modulate to create complex FM (Frequency Modulation) or RM (Ring Modulation) synthesis or the 256 partial harmonic editor can be used to additively synthesize virtually any timbre you can imagine. With up to 64x oversampling Sytrus delivers 100% epic sound.

 

Effects

Sytrus features 3 independent, chainable, filter units, each containing an array of filters (13 types each with 5 cutoff slope settings) and integrated waveshaper (distortion processor).
The filter units are optionally followed by a Chorus, Delay & Reverb unit. 100% Flexibility.

Virtual modelling in Sakura follows a 5 stage hanami-process :

 

Contact – An impulse, the mechanical contact with the string, is first generated then shaped to simulate plucks, picks, scrapes, hammers, taps or humble fingers.
Vibration – Sakura’s dual string model then gives the operator control over a wide range of parameters such as damping, tension, positioning and string properties.
String interaction – The dual strings are then mixed, panned and enveloped to simulate interactions.
Resonance – The string/s vibration then interacts with an 8-resonator ‘body simulator’ to create the size, material and shape of the instrument
Acoustics – Virtual acoustic space is then simulated with chorus, delay and reverberation effects.

But wait! If you listen to 1 preset, every second, 24 hours a day, it will take you over 136 years to complete this task. It’s clear you will need backup, and you have it, your fellow Autogun users. Every Autogun is set to start from a unique preset number, so that each member of the team is assigned a personal starting address, ready to explore. However, you can at any time, jump to a new location in the preset-space by simply entering a preset number.

Once a prized sound is discovered, and it’s preset number logged, share them with other Autogun users or import them into Ogun, for detailed study or further development.With so many presets Autogun needs no programming, every sound is already somewhere ‘out there’ you just need to locate it, and you will, Autogun’s sonic landscape is a sonic adventure..

The PoiZone filter has bright and clean sound or it can be ‘grungy’ and ‘angry’ when resonance is introduced as it features some light distortion.
